day 2

Today was my first day at the elementary school. Me and the kids walked to the school because it's not far from the house. First I had to go to the office to sign in and get a pass. After that I went to Ms Novielli's class. A school day in Canada always starts with the national song. We don't have that in the Netherlands so it was really nice to see and hear. After that I went with some kids to the ESL class, were extra English and culture is taught (you can compare it to the IB subject). The kids had to make a shape poem. I walked around and helped the children were needed. After that I went back to the class, they had a discussion about the internet and after the small break math. I also gave a little presentation to tell the children something about the Netherlands. During the lunchroom I ate in the staff room. It was pot-luck day and everyone brought something to make a salad. After biology, school was finished and I walked with the kids back home. It was a really nice day so we went to the park nearby and played some games there together. For dinner we had hamburgers from the BBQ. After that we went back to the park to play basketball.
